Lyrics.

Little bird, have you got a key?

Unlock the lock inside of me

Where will you go?

Keep yourself afloat

Feeling old until the wings unfolded

Caught me a long wind

Where will we go?

Keep ourselves afloat

I caught a long wind

A long life wind

I got to know the sky

But it didn’t know me

Got to see the light

And land on top of the sea,

And be the bird, be the key

And now the current tells

What the wave withheld

And then the lightning say

Oh where the light will lay

Where will you go?

Keep yourself afloat

I caught a long wind

A long life wind

Like a swallow

A night owl

A little chickadee

Sad sparrow

Good morning bird

Good nightingale

I took a deep breath

And caught a long wind

About:

Every so often, a song hits me so hard I feel obliged to share it with the world. It might make me wanna boogie, it might make me wanna shrivel up underneath the covers, or it might make me wanna play air guitar with a tennis racket in front of my bedroom mirror (best case scenario: all three). This blog is where I share it.

I choose to distribute via a blog because it allows me to take the concept to the next level. Each song is shared using three different forms of content (i.e. the studio recording, a live video, the lyrics, a cover version, etc.). Crucially, everything posted is posted for a good reason (i.e. if the lyrics are not part of the reason for my interest in the song, you will not see them on here). This is not your average 'song of the day' tripe where the quality of material tends to vary greatly. Sometimes there are more than one per week, and sometimes weeks pass in between selections. It is purely dependent upon how often I hear something that knocks me out.

We live in a time where 'the song' is much more celebrated than 'the album.' For better or worse, most people have neither the time nor the inclination to listen to an album from start to finish. With this blog, I strive to recreate the magic of the album listening experience of yesteryear for the multitasking, multimedia-oriented culture of today.

Hope you like...

Cheers,
Sameer
